Occupational Metal Exposures in Taiwan 台灣職業金屬暴露
Some metals are widely used in industry. However, how to maintain the work without jeopardizing the health, it is necessary to know what kind of toxic substances may be exposed in the work environment. The requirements for the basic knowledge of occupational safety and health, furthermore, individual protection should not be neglected. Occupational toxic metals in Taiwan, such as Lead (Pb), Arsenic (As), Manganese (Mn), Chromium (Cr), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), and Indium (In), are primarily required for occupational health examination every year. This report will present the preliminary data on these health checks and the performance of metal toxicology. 金屬在工業中使用廣泛因職業因素而暴露於金屬是不可避免，但如何在工作繼續維持下，不使健康受到危害，這要對自己工作環境中可能會暴露何種毒性物質要認識外，自我防護及安全衛生的要求更不可疏忽。在台灣較常見的職業有毒金屬；鉛 (Lead, Pb), 砷 (Arsenic, As), 錳 (Manganese, Mn), 鉻 (Chromium, Cr), 鎘 (Cadmium, Cd), 汞 (Mercury, Hg), 鎳 (Nickel, Ni), and 銦 (Indium, In)等等。這些金屬主要在特殊作業勞工的職業健康檢查中列為必須每一年血液或尿液檢查。本報告僅以這些健康檢查的初步數據以及金屬毒理的表現來討論。
